On Wednesday, September 23rd Mindi Rowe Moon was in California with her husband Matt for his company work trip. At dinner, Mindi suffered a heart attack that the doctors have determined to be takotsubo cardiomyopathy also known as broken heart syndrome. She was given CPR and rushed to the hospital. After a night at the hospital in Mission Viejo, doctors determined that she would need to be transferred to a hospital with more specialized cardiac equipment. Mindi was life flighted to the Cedars-Sinai Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Since arriving at the hospital she has undergone 5 operations to try and stabilize her. Most of the operations were procedures to keep blood flow going through her body and to try and get her heart working again. Mindi is a wife and mother of 2 adorable boys Kai (5) and Kade (2). She is known and loved by so many. She is currently an aesthetician at Legacy Dermatology in Bountiful and does hair and nails for many throughout the community. If you know Min you don’t just love her, you adore her and her super spunky personality! She loves her family, friends, patients & clients and is always so vested in their lives and stories. Mindi has so much life to live, so much to live for and is our everything. Her doctors and nurses are optimistic about her recovery, but she has a long, long road to recovery. We know our Heavenly Father is aware of Min and Matt and we have felt your prayers and are so grateful for all who have reached out for updates on Min. Mindi will remain at Cedars-Sinai for the duration of her recovery with Matt by her side. This will be an unimaginable financial undertaking for the Moon family, but we know that it was no coincidence that Mindi ended up at one of the top cardiac hospitals.
