Mindi’s Fight Against Colon Cancer

Hello, my name is Jared, and this is my wonderful sister Mindi. Mindi was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer at the end of January after the doctors removed a golf ball-sized mass from her small intestines/colon. Mindi has just completed her 1st of 12 rounds of chemotherapy that she will be undergoing over the next 6 months. On top of this diagnosis, Mindi has lived with Down Syndrome her whole life and struggles with seizures as well. Due to her health conditions and the issues she has with seizures, Mindi is required to be near a specialized neurologist in order to undergo chemotherapy, resulting in our parents having to take time from work and travel 4 hours with overnight stays just to get her initial chemo treatments. 2 days later they have to return to the hospital to have a pump removed. Along with these conditions, Mindi has other health vulnerabilities that require numerous doctor appointments weekly, resulting in many hours of travel for her and my parents to make sure she is taken care of. Fortunately, Mindi has health insurance to cover most medical expenses, but the trips to and from along with time from work are adding up to be very costly. My family and I are asking for assistance to help cover the transportation, meal, and daily living costs for my parents and sister over the next 6 months of treatment. Any little bit will help, and every little bit is greatly appreciated...even if it's simply a share and a prayer!
