Minda Baranda's COVID-19 Funeral Relief
Donation protected
Minda Baranda joined Our Lord on the morning of November 5, 2020 at the age of 65 due to complications related to COVID-19. After contracting the virus, she was hospitalized at St. Barnabas for over two weeks. Her condition worsened to critical in the ICU and she ultimately had to be put on a ventilator. As much as Minda wanted to stay with us and fought so hard to do so, her body could no longer fight.
Minda was a wonderful wife to her husband Silverio “Boyong” for 39 years, a proud and loving mother to three children: Paul, Chiara “Cha Cha” (†) and Jennifer, sister to six siblings and friend to many. Minda meaningfully touched the lives of those around her. She had a vibrant spirit that could light up a room, and she went out of her way to support those she loved. Minda treated everyone like family, making sure you were always comfortable (and always had something to eat). I think everyone who was lucky enough to know her shared the same feelings of love, devotion, and admiration toward her. We are all devastated by Minda’s passing.
Many have asked how they can help the family in this difficult time. Your prayers and support have been so important along the way of this horrific journey. In lieu of flowers, a financial gift to aid in the hospital expenses and Minda’s final resting place would be a great help to the Baranda family, who has been through so much. Minda will be buried in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ, just a short distance from her daughter Chiara.
Details of visitation and funeral arrangements will be shared shortly. For those who wish to participate but are unable to attend in person, a live stream via Zoom will be available.
For those who do not know me, my name is Skylar and I am Paul’s girlfriend. I am so grateful to have gotten to know Minda over the past five years, but I am heartbroken to have not had more time with her. The family does not typically ask for help, but I want Minda to know I will take care of her son, as well as Jennifer and Boyong, for the rest of my life.
I have asked Nikki Nueva to help coordinate this. Nikki was like another daughter to Minda. The Llamas & Nueva families have always been close to the Barandas, and they are always the first to show up when you need support.
