In February of 2019, our mother was diagnosed with Non – Hodgkin’s Diffused Lymphoma, Stage 4. The doctors had discovered tumors throughout her body and informed her that if she did not start chemotherapy, she would only have a few months to live. Our mother decided what was best for her and turned to holistic healing.
During the beginning of her diagnosis, she was still working and applied for disability, she was unfortunately denied because she was not experiencing the symptoms of a person diagnosed with cancer.
Shortly after, our mom headed out of state to a center focused on holistic healing. The center focused on stopping disease progression and natural ways to reverse it. The center was expensive, and our parents were fully responsible for the cost of the program and board.
In December of 2019, our mother's leg began to swell. They were able to manage the swelling at home through holistic techniques
In February of 2020, our mother, although not cancer free, hit her one year of battling and surviving the disease. She beat the odds of having a couple months to live by an entire year. She is a fighter; she is a strong woman.
Unfortunately, around, April 2020, the swelling in her leg became worse and a tumor near her groin was causing pain and growing in size. The doctors discovered multiple tumors throughout her body, in her lymph nodes, and bone.
Our parents are now preparing to travel to an immunity therapy center out of the country. This center will provide an alternative lymphoma treatment by targeted therapy and holistic healing. This center does not accept insurance.
They will begin this journey with a 19 hour drive. Once they reach their destination a shuttle will pick them up and drive them the rest of the way. Our parents will be paying for their travel expenses from Texas to their destination, and back. They will be paying for the hotel for the duration of my mother’s treatment, and the services they will receive from the center.
Their expenses are adding up and my sisters and I are asking for any contribution you are able to provide. We will be incredibly thankful and grateful to present them with this gift.
Our parents are amazing selfless humans. Our mother is the strongest woman we know, and I have not heard a complaint from her once through this trying time. Our father has supported our mother in every step of this disease and has stayed by her side through every appointment and all treatments. They both deserve a break and we would love to alleviate the stress of finances for them as much as possible.
