Mind Over Matter, a rally for “Uncle Mike”

      “Mind Over Matter” a Rally for Uncle Mike ! Whether you know him by Mike Smart, Mikey, Ladd, Ladie, Darnell, Leroy or Uncle Mike, whether you have seen him as a Carpenter, and craftsman, a Hunter, a fisherman, a dirt bike racer, expert skier, or avid Golfer, or maybe you have never even met “Uncle Mike “ and you have a compassionate heart that wants to help others in need, this message is for you.  

Uncle Mike has been having a rough go with some profound pain that turned out to be Cancer. It wasn’t until recently we were informed of the situation and we instantly jumped into action to rally support around a man who although is not blood, Is a “ Tomlinson” at his core and is as much my Uncle as any man I’ve ever know. Mike has always been there, whether is was riding dirt bikes, building the Cabin,  teaching us to hunt, lapping East Bowl runs at Burke , watching him build Alerin Barn, teaching me to fish or never missing a day on the Golf Course ..... he has been a fixture in my life in two states and over 40 years.

Mike is being very positive and upbeat throughout this process, he has been so profoundly moved by the compassion of his neighbors and medical professionals, the nurses that have helped to get him access to financial grants and available care for his treatment etc.... I want to shower him with our love and support and help ease the financial burden that comes with cancer. Mike lives alone and is a man of great simplicity, but in a time like this when he needs to heal and rest and stay positive,and can’t work as well as he did, I think easing the financial burden of bills and meals and life’s needs is something that could make a profound impact. Please share this message, and even if it’s a dollar, it’s a dollar that goes towards health and healing....
