Ramadan Fundraising MBIA Islamic School (KIS)

A statement from the Student Council:

As salamu-alaykum brothers and sisters,

We wish everyone a blessed Ramadan. We as an Islamic Student Council are happy to say our community is growing greatly. With that comes a lot of our peers and youth in search of Islamic knowledge. To accommodate for that we are working to collect donations for MBIA Islamic school. We ask of you for any donations to help buy supplies and create more programs and events for the youth for the upcoming school year.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 738). No matter how small the donation is, Allah will reward one for it. Let this be your way of “building a mosque,” to help teach our future generations about Islam. 

May Ramadan be a time of goodness and giving. Any donation amount will be appreciated. If you aren’t able to donate, please spread the word and share. Jazak Allah Khair for any effort put towards this cause, may Allah reward you all.

A Statement from school principal:

Asalamualikum w rahamatullahi w barakatuh,

Mind Builders Islamic Academy (aka KIS) has been a lifeline to Islamic knowledge to the area's youth for many years. As the greater Kalamazoo area grows and strengthens its Muslim ummah, more needs emerge to sustain the integrity of the school.

When we meet with the youth leaders of our school, there is a reoccurring theme among their goals for MBIA--to cultivate a strong youth presence that will bring them closer to Allah (swt). These requests, however, cost money.

MBIA looks to the community's generosity during the Holy Month of Ramadan and beyond. We seek to make cosmetic renovations, increase student programs, and better support disadvantaged Muslim youth with tuition costs. Any cent given to MBIA will elevate your status with Allah, inshAllah, as the deed continues to increase. al Quran al Karim reminds us of the virtues of charity in Surat al Baqarah:

"The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower. Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve” [al-Baqarah 2:261-262].

Since MBIA KIS and KIC are one entity, donations to the school qualify as zakat (this is confirmed after consulting with local sheikh Nouman. Donations may also be given on behalf of the deceased family members we hold dear to our hearts.

May the charity you bestow upon our school be the answer to someone's duaa in previous times. May your donations elevate you to the highest levels of Jannah. May your donations bring our children closer to Islam, for the sake of Allah.
