Once in a lifetime trip to Germany..
Hello, my name is Mina Ledford and I appreciate you taking time out of your day to read my story. I'm sixteen and currently a sophomore in high school who has the opportunity to join an educational trip to Germany this summer, and would be leaving on June 9th. This trip would mean a lot to me because it would allow me to experience Germany's culture firsthand, learn more about the history in Germany, and practice language skills in a real-world setting. What I would look forward to doing on this trip is trying new foods, visiting older buildings like their churches, and perhaps on a deeper level, I would want to visit WWII sites that are open to visitors and truly get to learn and understand what happened. It’s a chance I may never get again, and I truly want to make the best of it.
My family has come a long way over the past four years. My parents have been in recovery for four years, and I’m really proud of how hard they’ve worked to rebuild our lives. But unfortunately, because of financial challenges, we aren’t able to cover the full cost of this trip, which is $1,000 for a deposit to show how serious we are about me going and to cover any other costs that may show up while on this trip. All other costs, such as the flights to Germany, are covered by my teachers who are taking students on this trip. Any money donated would be used to be able to go on this once-in-a-lifetime trip or to be used in Germany. Any amount you're willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you aren’t able to contribute money, a share with others would mean the world to us as well. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give; it truly means more than I can express.
