Over-whelming gratitude hardly expresses how thankful we are for the love, support and generosity we have received from our family, friends, and compassionate anonymous donors. We love you all and appreciate your continued support of our journey. We are forever grateful.
While the fight is not over, we have made significant progress over the past 12 months. Following an agonizing custody battle and grieving the loss of our baby, we firmly believe YOUR prayers and positivity brought our baby back into our lives. We lost custody however gained temporary guardianship. We have since welcomed our baby girl’s biological mother and her new baby into our home. Never a dull moment in our household!
Because our journey has been riddled with, at times seemingly unbearable obstacles we have experienced yet another setback. This past November with the blessing and support of our baby girl’s biological mother we re-petitioned for adoption only to be contested by the biological father who has petitioned for custody. Since he was named the biological father over 2 years ago he has never asked for visitation or offered any financial support.
Trial has been set for June 9, 2016.
God willing following this court date the adoption trial will begin. As hopeful as we are, we are still looking at an extensive financially and emotionally draining legal process.
For those of you that have given financial support we are forever indebted to you…for those of you that have prayed for us we ask that you continue to pray. We now are asking you to please share our story with your friends and family.
I promise with all that I am…once our baby girl is ours FOREVER! I will not rest until I close down that disgraceful DCFS group home our baby girl’s biological mother lived in. The conditions that Illinois DCFS wards live in is unacceptable and I will let my voice be heard to make a change to their living conditions…even if I have to sit on our governor’s door step!
All of our Love and Thanks!
