Mina Wahidi

Hi, my name is Sarah. On Tuesday, April 4th, my beloved mother passed away. She leaves behind 3 children Sarah, Mariam & Bilal. If you were lucky enough to meet her, you knew she was a light like no other. She was genuine, kind, cheerful & so hilarious. As my mama, there was never a time she said no. She could change the worst day into the best day ever! Her laugh was contagious & her smile would brighten any room she was in. She dedicated every moment of her life to providing for others while asking for nothing in return. She worked in the charity world for all of her life & helped tens of thousands of people. She never judged anybody, instead, she welcomed & lifted them, ensuring their safety & comfort.

She was so involved in her community, always volunteering & fundraising. She created a charity for refugees, she put together multiple fundraisers for women's shelters, she supported low-income families with free food, clothes & any necessities they may have needed & so much more. She strived to set people up for success no matter the circumstances. She worked with many mosques, churches, community centres, organizations & more. Her presence in the community will truly be irreplaceable.

The sudden death caused me & my family intense agony. I received a phone call late Tuesday evening, & from that moment my life, & the lives of many others would change forever. There are so many things I am grateful for, she gave me and my siblings such amazing moments & memories. I am thankful she got to see me graduate from university but there are so many things she is going to miss. She was so excited to babysit my future kids. I will keep her in my heart for the rest of my life & remember every single thing she taught me. When I grow up, I aspire to be just like my mom.

None of us were prepared. My family is really financially struggling. I am hoping to use these contributions for funeral costs as well as donate in her honour to those in desperate need as she would have wanted. My family is Any amount is appreciated. I hope we can all take the time to reflect & cherish the moments we had with her. And please, most importantly always keep my mama in your prayers.
