Hello, my name is Andrea. I’m reaching out to ask for financial support following the sudden and unexpected passing of my father.

On June 20th, my father, Min Zhou, took his own life after a long and painful battle with depression.

After my parents lost their jobs during COVID, my father resorted to being a mail carrier to provide for the family, walking 10–12 miles a day in his late 50s. He was then coerced to quit in a way that disqualified him from unemployment benefits. In the final month before his passing, my father fell victim to a credit card scam and was forced into immense debt. After years of carrying the weight of financial hardship and silent suffering, my father’s long battle with depression came to a heartbreaking end.

Min was a dedicated father and husband, who spent his entire life putting his family first. With his passing, the foundation of our family has been torn away. We’ve lost not just a father, but the quiet strength that held us together.

As a full-time college student, I’ve taken on the responsibility of funeral arrangements and providing financial support on behalf of my mother, who struggles with a language barrier and no stable source of income.
