Hi, this is Malana and I'm fundraising to help out my parents with expenses due to the passing of my father, Milton Gaudin, Sr. His surviving spouse, my mom, will need some assistance during this transition so we are asking for donations in place of flowers.
Below you will find my dad's obituary.
Milton Vernon Gaudin, Sr, 95, of Highland Village, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Milton was born on April 15, 1927, to Louis Gaudin and Norma Boucher Gaudin in Welsh, Louisiana. After graduating from Welsh High School, on May 22, 1944, he was employed by Southwestern States Telephone Company. He enlisted into the Navy in New Orleans on February 6, 1945, and served in World War II in both San Diego, California and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii until August 3, 1946, with an honorable discharge. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon. Upon his return to civilian life, he rejoined Southwestern States Telephone Company and remained in the telephone business until September 15, 1950. Milton was recalled by the United States Navy and served with the Fleet Marine Force in Korea. He was honorably discharged on August 3, 1954, and earned the Korean Service Medal. Milton worked in telecommunications with Southwestern State Telephone Company, General Telephone Company, and Verizon until he retired in April 1989.
During his time of service and work, he met Margie Willene Wisenor and married on June 4, 1950, in Mangham, Louisiana. During their marriage, they lived in DeQuincy, Basile, and Ville Platte, Louisiana; Lewisville, Winnsboro, and Highland Village, Texas. Milton had a side business repairing small appliances, served as a cub scout leader with the Boy Scouts, was an avid fisherman in the 1970s and 1980s collecting hundreds of fishing lures, and even volunteered reading to elementary school children. Milton enjoyed country and cajun music, cajun cooking, fish fries, and hosting family events at “the farm” in Winnsboro, Texas. If there was music, friends, family, and food, you could count on Milton hitting the dance floor with his signature jig. Milton loved all of his pets throughout his life including his cows, bull, and dogs.
