Every Step Matters.
Imagine pulling a car for 24 hours straight.
Every step is a choice to keep going. Every hour is a reminder that even when the load feels overwhelming, progress happens one step at a time.
That's why Alex has chosen this extraordinary challenge: to raise awareness of mental health challenges and to help ensure more people access the support they need.
Too many people carry invisible burdens every day. Too many struggle in silence. No one should have to face those challenges alone.
The LifePsych Society exists to change that.
The Society brings together clinicians, researchers, educators and community leaders to promote practical lifestyle approaches to mental health care, recognising the important role that movement, nutrition, sleep, smoking cessation and social connection play in wellbeing. Sometimes, a first step towards better mental health is simply having a safe place to move, connect and belong.
One example is Addi Moves, a free, trauma-informed community exercise program developed through the UNSW NExuS research group, which is co-led by directors of LifePsych. More than just an exercise program, Addi Moves provides a safe and welcoming place for people experiencing trauma, social disadvantage and other barriers to health to move, connect and build confidence.
Alex's 24-hour car pull is about much more than physical endurance. It is a powerful reminder that people should not have to carry heavy burdens alone, and that together we can help lighten the load they carry.
Your donation will help support LifePsych's work in education, advocacy, community engagement and the promotion of programs that help people improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Every contribution, big or small, helps create a future in where mental health care supports the whole person, mind, body and soul. As well as contributes to the cause of reduce suicide, improve health and strengthen community.
Because every step matters.
