THE WAIT IS OVER, SAY HELLO TO OUR NEW PROJECT AND PROGRAM.
Our NEW medical assistance program, Milly's Fund, helps pets receive medical care their owners cannot afford. Milly, a chocolate Lab, was my first dog. I rescued Milly at 8 weeks old. Our relationship was a special one. Milly was the reason that AAA was created. I wanted to give back to other animals. In 2017 Milly was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. In January of 2018, Milly needed to have her leg amputated. I could not afford the $5,000 surgery, which was the only option to give Milly a longer life. The community rallied to raise money with the help of PAWS of Alamance County. Milly’s surgery was funded, and she lived a fulfilled life until she passed in November 2019. She is deeply missed by many. Milly’s fund was created in memory of Milly and the fantastic community that stepped up to help me and Milly in a time of turmoil. Milly’s fund will help pet owners of Alamance County by providing veterinary services to those in need.
