Millie has recently turned 3 years old. She has congenital myopathy and HIE grade 2. She is tube fed, non mobile and non verbal and has scholiosis.

Millie's condition affects all the muscles in her body both internally and externally, meaning that they are weak and she fatigues easily. Her respiratory system also finds it harder to bounce back from things the way we would.

We had a healthy pregnancy but when Millie was born she was starved of oxygen to the brain for 10 minutes as she had mucus stuck in her throat and in the weeks that followed could only move one hand. Although the rest slowly followed we noticed that things were much harder for her and she appeared floppy and tired all the time.

Millie received her formal diagnosis on her 1st birthday.

She is a happy and content little girl with all the sass in the world. She is strong minded and continues to surprise us everyday. She loves to sing and is especially fond of dinosaurs!

Although Millie is non mobile now, we hope that in the future she will be able to walk, be that aided or unaided.

Millie has had a tough year having had seven hospital admissions due to respiratory infections but remains happy and strong.

We are so very proud of her and thank you so very much for raising money for Millie. Next year we hope for Millie to attend as many intense physio sessions as possible to give her the best chance at gaining some form of mobility.

These sessions cost £120 each so we are aiming to raise as much as possible to help Millie and her family.
