Millie after a hit & run on Christmas Eve
Donation protected
My dog Millie has been a huge emotional support for me over the years. Raising her and having her as part of my family has been everything and a big help with my mental health. On days I thought I couldn’t bare to face the world, one look at her Frenchton face and seeing her energetic approach to life would get me up and moving.
This Christmas Eve my dog was run over and the driver did not stop. She has damage to her hind legs and will need a further surgery in the future to put her right hip back into place. I rushed her to the hospital and they have done a wonderful job operating on her and saving her life. She still has a long way to go but I am so lucky she is still alive.
Before asking complete strangers for financial assistance I’d like to share a little about myself. I was once a small business owner prior to the pandemic but like many, was forced to sell due to financial difficulties. This difficult time caused my pre existing mental health issues to take their toll on me and I needed to seek in patient treatment. Millie was able to join me on this journey and was an emotional support not just to me but to many that came into contact with her. She was even nicknamed Dr. Millie as she would just quietly sit and/or sleep with people that she felt needed her presence near them. During this time I was receiving unemployment and disability but this has now stopped. I am currently living with my parents while looking for a compassionate employer. My dog being run over was devastating and I would do anything to save her life. I am currently using my retirement money for my beloved dog’s treatment but it’s simply not enough. So I kindly and humbly ask if you are reading this and touched by our story to support the go fund me for my dog Millie. Thank you for taking the time to read this and offering your support.
