On November 8, 2018 Chris and Kalie Miller lost everything in their house due to the wildfire The Camp Fire, Butte County, California.
Kalie Miller woke that morning to complete black stating looked like midnight. She saw the ashes of the fire raining down all around their house. She then packed up the most important things she could think of and her, their son Declan and two dogs got into the car and started their drive to Chris's parents house. As they were leaving Chris was on his way in to fight the fire with Cal Fire. Kalie and Chris were able to wave at each other as they were passing.
"It’s an overwhelming feeling when you are so glad you and the baby are safe and on your way out of town when you look up to see your husbands dozer driving past you going into the fire. You just smile and wave as your heart drops again. We love you honey. Stay safe. " -Kalie Miller
As kalie was driving Chris was able to call her to let her know that it wasnt looking good for their house, the gas station down the road had blown up.
Chris was able to drive by where their house once stood to see that it was no longer standing.
The one good thing is that they were able to evacuate in time and Chris will be with Kalie soon!
As mentioned previously they lost everything including all their clothes and Declans toys so this fund will be helping to get them back on their feet.
Every little bit helps!
Thank you so much to everyone for all the help and especially the firefighters for going in to help while everyone else is leaving!
