Miller’s Mafia Against Neuroblastoma
Donation protected
Hi my name is Tina. We are raising funds for my 14 month old granddaughter Miller Violet. She was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma cancerous tumor on her right adrenal gland on January 27, 2024. The tumor is wrapped around vital arteries and imposing on her liver. She will require chemotherapy treatments for several months with the hope of shrinking the tumor. She will later undergo surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible.
She has subsequently developed Opsoconus-Myoclonus-Ataxia syndrome. The syndrome is affecting her balance, walking and vision and will require one to two years of treatment. She will also need physical therapy and occupational therapy to assist her in regaining her mobility.
Miller and her parents are currently staying at Children’s hospital in St. Louis. She has an eight year old sister who I am caring for while they are away. She and her sister are best friends and they miss each other terribly. As you can imagine this has turned our lives upside down.
Miller’s mother is currently staying full time at the hospital and we do not know when she will be able to return to work. Her dad is working as much as he can to keep medical insurance but he is needed at the hospital as a support and his employer does not have sick leave benefits so anytime he takes off work is unpaid.
Miller and her family live over an hour away from the hospital so they will be spending lots of time traveling up and down the highway to continue her treatments once they are released from inpatient status. The family will need to make repairs to their current vehicle or purchase another vehicle. Their current vehicle is an older model Jeep Wrangler and is not efficient on gas and needs repairs to make it safe for traveling back and forth for Miller’s treatments.
By donating to Miller’s Mafia you can make things just a little easier for all of us. The last thing we want is for Miller’s mom and dad to be worrying about finances. Their job is to care for Miller and themselves while we fight this horrible disease.
