My name is Dawn Quiter and about six years ago my son met his best friend, Jake, while playing football.  It was a brief acquaintance until they both ended up in 5th grade together.  They became fast friends.  In 6th grade, Jake and his mom, Kristi, saved my son's life and from then on his family has taken up a very special place in my heart.  Kristi and I have been friends since then.   On Friday, September 4th, Kristi called me, just beside herself, to tell me that Alec, her husband and Jake's dad had just passed away quite suddenly.  My heart broke immediately for them.  As we all know, this time of economic uncertainty in the world has brought a great deal of stress and anxiety on most people.  Now, Kristi must have the added struggle of paying for a funeral and managing without Alec's income.
