ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT YOU'VE GOT ME ATTENTION. WHAT’S ALL THIS ABOUT THEN?

Frank is a born and bred Scouser in his fifties who’s completely lost his way since his wife died. Shut off from the world and barely speaking to his daughter (who honestly needs him more than ever) he’s lost and not expressing it.

HOWEVER

His reclusivenss is turned on it's head when a young woman fresh out of prison turns up uninvited and looking for her Ma. What follows is a beautiful and unlikely friendship...

SO WHY ARE YOUSE MAKING THIS SHORT FILM?

We’ve seen what grief does to people. How it can make someone go quiet, withdraw and change. We’ve also seen how hard it is, especially for older men to actually talk about their feelings when it comes to grief, and for someone like Frank, how they hide it with Scouse banter. There’s still that mindset of “just get on with it”. But it doesn’t have to be that way. At its core, MILKY TEA is about people learning how to open up again.

It's also our amazing writer/director duo’s debut film!

I LIKE THE SOUND OF THIS ME LIKE. WHAT'S OUR FRANKY BOY WEARING THEN KIDDA?

BUT WHY'S IT SET IN LIVERPOOL?

Because whether you’re a red or a blue, you’ll get it. It’s an insight into our DNA. That mix of toughness and softness. The care people show without making a big song and dance about it all. And of course… the kettle being on constantly is accurate to the Scouse experience.

We’ve all worked in the industry, and we know how much graft goes into making something like this. The truth is, a lot of our cast and crew are doing us a massive solid on this one, giving their time, energy and talent because they believe in the story. And we don’t take that lightly at all.
