The goal of this campaign is to raise funds to support the family of our dear friend, Milka. All funds raised will be given to her family back home in Northern Nigeria. Please read below for more information:

It is with great sadness that we share heartbreaking news of the passing on of one of our own, Milkatu Garba. Milka was from Nigeria, and she came to Syracuse University to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated with a Master’s in Linguistics in 2020 and had been living and working in the Syracuse area since then. Milka was a member of The Vineyard Church where she would often volunteer for the weekly food pantry.

A memorial is being held in her honor, this Saturday 17th December at Erwin First United Methodist Church (920 Euclid Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210) at 1 pm. We invite you to join us as we honor the life and memory of Milkatu Garba.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and loved ones. We share in mourning this unimaginable loss with all those who knew and loved Milka.
