Hello everyone, as some of our close family and friends have already heard, my sister, her husband, and their 4 young children lost everything yesterday. A house fire to their family home caused them to lose their house and everything in it. My sister’s car was parked next to the house as well and the keys in the house, so she was unable to move her car. Since it was so close to the house it did not fair well either. Thankfully, my sister was able to get everyone out of the house including their family pets. In the process of making sure everyone was out, my sister got smoke inhalation and had to be transported to a burn unit to make sure she didn’t go into cardiac arrest overnight. My brother in law has been in the Navy for a very long time now and has done two deployments serving our country. Him and my sister have 4 young children ages 9, 5, 3, and 1 as well as two dogs. They have lost absolutely everything including their main vehicle that they can fit their entire family in. The military and Red Cross has helped them some with emergency housing and some basics for the short term but they will have to start all over again. All donations will go directly to helping them pick up the pieces of this tragic event. We have received an amazing out pour of assistance just in the past 24 hours and appreciate everyone that has help this far. My dad left Florida late last night with a car load of clothing and new car seats for the two youngest children and is headed up to Virginia to deliver it all to them. Several of our family and friends have asked how they can help so we are setting up a way for y’all to donate directly to them. All donations will assist in helping them get back on their feet and help relieve a little bit of the stress of this situation. We truly appreciate the outpour of support and assistance they have received thus far.
