I have until 5-17-23 to help her....
The California property I took Miley from had her living in a beat up kennel run during a snow storm with nothing to keep warm. She would pancake on the ground if you came near her and submisive pee. The person that informed me of the deplorable conditions of some of the dogs on the property said, they were used for breeding. It would make sense that they were, given the shitty set up they had Miley and her mom Hailey in. While the owners wouldn't confirm the dogs were used for breeding, they did say they couldn't "use them" because both dogs had tumors. So I took them both.
Miley was just 10 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. We were all in disbelief, including the doctors... she's just so young??
After much more testing, the doctors have deemed the tumor a form of a nerve sheath tumor. Which means without immediate surgery and attention, she's likely to have a growth that will eventually take over her face :(
The doctor performing the surgery isn't sure how deep in her jaw the tumor is attached, so there is a high probability he will have to remove a portion of her jaw.
The good news is, if we can irradicate the tumor with surgery we may be able to avoid chemo and radiation!
We are down to the final push with Miley. If you can help me get her surgery covered, we can finish her training, and find her a forever home, and all of this will just be a blip in the radar!
If you've already hit your contribution budget this year, please consider sharing this post for sweet Miley!
