Hi!  We're Philip, Kari, Gavin and Griffin Miles and we're adopting!  We've had a desire to adopt for nearly a decade, and have pursued adoption through foster care in the past, but the pieces just never came together.  We've waited patiently (and not so patiently) for God to lead us to the child(ren) He has for us and here we are!

We were made aware of a 10 yr old boy in China with a blood disorder that is literally killing him.  He will not (you read that right - WILL NOT) survive if he is not adopted and given the opportunity to receive the level of medical care that we, as Americans, often take for granted.  Adoption is the rescue he needs and we have been given the opportunity to play a part in his rescue.  Because his prognosis is so grim if left in China, we're hoping (and anticipating) that we will be able to expedite his adoption and get him home quickly.  The beauty in this situation is that God, the Author and Creator of life, knows him by name and loves him more than we ever can and can move mountains of fear, funding, bureaucracy and any other mountain my mind has yet to conceive. Please pray with us that all individuals involved in this adoption will move swiftly and recognize the gravity of the situation - we're literally talking life or death.  Our goal is to have him home in 3-4 months! Also, please pray that all funds will be covered quickly.  We have a little bit saved (and will continue to save) and we've already received one grant for $4,000, but this will only cover a fraction of the amount necessary to bring him home. I initially thought that the money part would be the scariest part, but I can honestly say that it's not even really a concern: we don't have it, so we know that God must provide.  He has placed Everett (that's the English name he has been given, since I apparently have forgotten to mention that yet) on our hearts and He cares more for him than we do.  He'll provide.  Period.  So, give or don't - it's really ok either way.  But if you could at least pray for us and Everett and share this link through YOUR social media, that would be really, really appreciated - you just never know who might want to participate.  Thanks so much!  We can't wait to share more about him and our journey with you!
