As many of you know, traveling is one of my passions. The experience of visiting a new country, interacting with the people and learning about different cultures enhances perspective and can profoundly affect the way an individual views the world around them. Every time you travel, you leave a piece of yourself there, and gain so much more.

I have the opportunity to go on an immersion trip to Zimbabwe and South Africa (and maybe Zambia) in Nov/Dec 2015. This will be a true immersion: interacting with locals, visiting different organizations, and of course traveling around the different countries. The trip total (including travel to and from) will be 18 days. This will be an invaluable experience that I will be able to carry with me - and I'm excited to see how it shapes my perspective and helps me grow as a person.
The distance from Denver to South Africa is approximately 9,464 miles. I'm proposing to run or walk 946.4 km (588 miles) by the time I leave. That averages about 4.5 km per day from May 1 to November 26. I will do my best to keep track and post progress as I can. If you feel compelled to help me finance this trip, you can do so a few different ways:
You can make a donation per kilometer or mile (or 5, or whatever increment you desire), or when I reach a certain distance level (ex: 100 km or miles).
If you wish to simply support a fellow traveler wanderlust, you can make a donation without the run/walk stipulation.
If you don't care for running, walking or traveling, I also make homemade all-natural and organic lip balm that has gotten rave reviews from anyone who has tried it. (I have also done body butter, sugar scrubs, soap and customized bath salts)
If this is of interest to you, I am happy to give/send you some - if you like it, make a donation! If you don't, don't.
Thank you in advance for your support!
