Miles travels to Tokyo to write a soundtrack.

Howdy.

If you’re unfamiliar, I am a full-time freelance composer, record label co-runner, and teacher. It is hard, taxing work that allows me to pay my bills but not much else. With that said, it is still incredibly fulfilling and without a doubt what I’m meant to be doing.

I have been presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity. A client of mine who lives in Tokyo has hired me to live in Tokyo for 5 weeks and write a soundtrack for a project while I’m there. This is a person I’ve known for two years, and trust them completely, in case that is any concern. Long story short, I would need to be in Tokyo starting on the project by the last week of October.

While I’m there, my rent and utilities would be paid for, in addition to payment for the project itself. This leads me to why I’ve started this fundraiser: I need to pay for the travel expenses to get there.

A roundtrip ticket to Tokyo is around $1250, but with fees and extra costs, it ends up being around $1500. This isn’t an expense I can completely cover at such short notice on top of my current bills.

It sounds corny, but this is a long time dream of mine. I just need help making it a reality.
