Miles' Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Charity. I am raising money for my 21-year-old nephew Miles.
His journey began on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Miles was robbed and shot 6 times. He had an 8-hour surgery to repair his colon, one of his kidneys, portions of his small and large intestines, liver, and bladder. One of the bullets hit a large blood vessel in his upper left leg and his lower left leg is shattered /broken from a bullet.
Miles is a hard-working young man who enjoys the sun, being outside, working full-time, and helping others. He has been unable to do these things during his recovery. A few of the challenges Miles is facing include being told by his doctors that he will not be able to walk independently for at least 8 months. Another challenge is that his car which he worked hard to pay for himself is completely totaled. Challenges and obstacles are a part of life however this information paired with the traumatic experience of being shot and hospitalized is devastating for anyone, especially an otherwise active and independent young man.
Miles has shown exemplary strength and endurance during this ordeal. Family, friends, and I encourage him to keep his faith, cherish each day, and be positive. It will take a while for Miles' mind, body, and soul to heal.
This fundraiser is important to me because it will allow Miles to be able to pay his mounting medical bills and also help Miles while he is currently unable to work. I want this fundraiser to be a blessing to Miles as he recovers.
