Dearest Friends and Family,
As this new year begins, I wanted to dedicate myself to something meaningful and positive. In a world that often feels overwhelming, this is my way of practicing gratitude for what we have and giving back to those who need it most. With that in mind, I’m writing with a heart full of gratitude and purpose as I share the next chapter of my running journey.
This August, I’ll be running the Sydney Marathon, not only as a personal challenge, but as a way to support a cause that deeply resonates with me: UNHCR USA, an organization dedicated to protecting refugees and displaced families around the world. Every mile I run is meant to help bring hope, dignity, and support to people who have been forced to leave everything behind simply to survive.
Today, more than 100 million people worldwide have been displaced due to war, violence, and persecution. UNHCR works tirelessly to provide emergency shelter, clean water, healthcare, education, and protection, often in the most difficult conditions imaginable. Their mission is not only to help people survive—but to help them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Running continues to be a powerful connection to my dad. It’s where I find reflection, strength, and perspective. The values he lived by—empathy, perseverance, and caring for others—guide me not just in running, but in life. This journey is one small way I try to live those values and carry his influence forward.
