Miles Marchant's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Miles Marchant was visiting his Oma and Grandpa in Oregon, when what was initially diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection was quickly identified as something much more serious. On Thursday, July 26, Miles was officially diagnosed with high-risk B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Because he is not currently able to travel, Miles has been undergoing the initial "induction" portion of his chemotherapy at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. He has been surrounded by love, between his parents, Susanne and Stuart, his Oma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. His family plans to travel back to their home in Maryland once he is able to make the trip, where he will continue treatment. This is not a short process--Miles will likely be in treatment for the next 3-5 years, depending on his progress along the way.
We have set up this fundraiser on behalf of Miles and his parents so that they can focus on his care and well-being without the added burden of financial stress. All money raised will go directly towards Miles's medical costs, transportation, food, or accommodations. We deeply appreciate any contribution you are able to make.
Miles's family has set up a Caring Bridge site for regular updates on his progress. We will continue to make regular updates here, as well.
We are shocked. Scared. Worried. We don’t have all the information. But we’re here and we’re going to kick ass.
Thanks for being with us along the way.
