Thanks for visiting!
On the 20th August, I begin a solo-cycle ride to Ukraine, in aid of the Conflict in Ukraine Emergency Appeal, run by the British Red Cross.
I will travel over 1700km in 11 days; from the Hook of Holland, through Germany, Austria, and Hungary, before eventually, (all being well!), arriving in Ukraine. Now, I can’t claim to be an avid cyclist. In fact, my bike has been in the shed for the last three years, making a great home for the resident spiders. However, this fundraiser is inspired by the long and lonely journeys 14.6 million people have been forced to make since the war began, leaving their loved-ones, homes, and belongings behind.
I’ve chosen to support the Red Cross because they are the UK’s largest provider of services for refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants. The ‘cannon fodder’ of any war. Already, they have provided shelter, food, health care, phones, emergency financial aid, and assistance with asylum applications, to 3.6 million people. Donations will support this vital work, and enable the Red Cross to reach more of the 18 million people that are now in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
If you can spare a couple of pounds, thank you! All money raised, will be delivered to the Red Cross in Ukraine, and I intend to deliver the proceeds to them personally. If you can’t donate, I’d be just as grateful if you could help me share this message!
Thank you for your generosity and support.
