Please join us in making a difference? As a team on Rainbow Unit we are raising money to benefit Action on Postpartum Psychosis, and any donation will help make an impact. We will be walking a minimum 132,000 steps during the month of May to represent the total number of miles it takes to get to our neighbouring Mother and Baby Units which totals 132 miles. To achieve this we will be incorporating walking groups in our ward timetable. Some of our local staff will also walk to and from work.

More information about Action on Postpartum Psychosis: Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is the National charity for women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP).

PP is a severe mental illness which begins suddenly following childbirth. Over 1400 women experience PP each year in the UK (1 to 2 in every 1000 mothers).

They run an award-winning peer support service, develop patient information, offer training to frontline health professionals, facilitate research and promote greater public awareness of PP and campaign for improved services.
