Miles for Melanie- A 5K Virtual Walk/Run -Celebrating the Life of Melanie Rossini

All proceeds of the Virtual 5K walk/run will provide camp scholarships at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, CT in Melanie's honor.
Ten years ago Melanie's family and friends came together to honor and celebrate Melanie's life. With this mission, we were able to raise over $180,000 and we built a year round program facility at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, called "Melanie Rossini Program Center."
It is hard to believe 10 years have passed since we lost our beautiful Melanie. We feel so blessed to have been a part of her life. Much like when we lost Melanie, today presents us with much uncertainty, anxiety, and loss as we navigate these unprecedented times. We hope that coming together for this event will foster connection, love, and hope for not only our family but yours as well.
-It is our wish that you use this event as a way to love, honor, and celebrate not only the life of Melanie but your own.
-It is our wish that this event allows you to reflect on what we are all grateful for.
- It is our wish that this event fosters moments of love and connection between you and your loved ones.
Here is how it works:
1. We invite you to make a gift in honor of Melanie. All proceeds will go toward sending a camper to Camp Sloper.
2. Share with your friends and family. Example: Just signed up for Miles for Melanie on July 26, donate and join me! #milesformelanie
3. On July 26, put on your favorite PURPLE shirt and accessories and hit the road for a 5K (3.1 miles). Use any mileage app of your choice to plan out your walk/run.
4. Have a great time, wave to friends, smile at strangers, and show up for Mel!
While we are sure Melanie is shining down upon us and smiling, we need to remember to smile too. So while you are out there walking, jogging, running, dancing on Melanie's day, remember to stop and smile and send some photos our way so we can celebrate virtually together using our Miles for Melanie Facebook page or on other social media platforms using #milesformelanie
