Hi everyone, I'm Ciaron and thank you for taking the time to read this.
Next year, I will be taking on the biggest physical and mental challenge of my life so far (but I am only 26 so thats not much to go on):
I will be cycling a full solo lap of Wales in just days, starting and finishing at Many Tears Animal Rescue in South Wales.
That’s over 1,000 miles of hills, coastlines, mountains, wind, rain (because… Wales), and long, lonely days in the saddle — all to raise funds for a charity I deeply believe in.
Now some of you may not be familiar with Many Tears Animal Rescue so allow me to help...
Many Tears Animal Rescue in South Wales works tirelessly to give unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals a second chance at life. They take in animals from all over the UK and abroad, including many who are traumatised, injured, or in desperate need of medical care.
Their work is relentless, emotional, and utterly life-changing — but it’s also expensive.
Every penny they receive goes directly toward:
Veterinary treatment
Food and supplies
Safe shelter and rehabilitation
Transport of animals in need
Giving every animal the chance to find their forever home
I want to do something that genuinely makes a difference for them — something big enough to reflect the incredible work they do every single day.
So with that in mind... what I'll be doing:
10 consecutive days
1,000+ miles
Solo and self-powered
Starting and finishing at Many Tears Animal Rescue
Completing a full loop around the entire Welsh coastline and border
This will push me far outside my comfort zone. I’m not a professional cyclist — just someone who cares deeply about animal welfare, loves a challenge, and wants to use that challenge to help a rescue that saves hundreds of lives every year.
I’ll be battling steep climbs, long days, unpredictable weather, and the mental challenge of riding alone. But every mile will be for the dogs and cats who need our help.
Your support means everything. Truly.
Even a small donation can help provide:
£5 — blankets, bedding, and comfort
£10 — a week of food for a rescue dog
£20 — medical supplies or vaccinations
£50+ — critical vet care and lifesaving treatment
Every single contribution goes directly toward helping animals in need.
Thank you so much for supporting this challenge and the incredible team at Many Tears Animal Rescue. Together, we can help give more animals the safe, loving homes they deserve.
Let’s turn these miles into second chances.
