Miles for Aoibhneas: Safe Homes & Support for Women&Children
I’m running Dublin Marathon on Sunday, 27th October to raise funds for Aoibhneas, one of Ireland's largest and most essential providers of refuge and support services for women and children escaping domestic abuse. Since its founding in 1988, Aoibhneas has been a lifeline for those in crisis, offering 24-hour support, safe accommodation, and vital resources for women and children forced to flee their homes due to violence.
Aoibhneas serves the Dublin City Centre, North Dublin, and North County Dublin areas, providing not only crisis accommodation but also a freephone helpline, community outreach, drop-in services, and court accompaniment. The need for these services is urgent: In Ireland, 1 in 4 women have been abused by a current or former partner, and 1 in 6 women have experienced physical or sexual violence since the age of 15.
Your donation will directly support Aoibhneas in providing safety, dignity, and hope to women and children affected by domestic abuse. Let’s take these miles and turn them into meaningful change. Every step counts.
