WHO IS MILES?
When I first met Miles, it baffled me that one dog could have so much personality. With watery eyes and a big goofy smile, he seemed more Muppet than dog and I fell in love instantly. His owner, Sam Benc, impressed me also with her attentiveness to his needs.
When Miles' original owner no longer wanted him, Sam stepped up to take him in and give him a wonderful life with her.
WHY DOES MILES NEED MY HELP?
During that first meeting, I noticed a growth on Miles' hindpaw. At the time, the growth was small, and vets assured Miles' owner that while it should be removed it was a low priority. This is when Sam began saving for surgery to have the growth removed.
Unfortunately, the growth grew at a rate far exceeding vet expectations. Miles can no longer walk without difficulty and the growth often splits, bleeding profusely.
While Miles' owner has been saving money for nearly a year, unexpected financial hardship and moving expenses has depleted her fund. At the rate of the growth's current expansion, removal has become an immediate concern and Miles cannot afford to wait another year.
This is why we are asking for your help now!

While helping a truly wonderful, awful little dog is absolutely reward all its own, I don't expect anyone's charity to go unrewarded!
