Miles 4 Sons - Bike-a-Thon
Doação protegida
The Miles4Sons Bike-a-thon is a fundraising event for the support and expansion of Fight4Life programs. Contributions will expand our Film & Arts, Entrepreneurship, S.T.E.M. and TaiChi programs.
Our Goal is to raise $100,000 by September 19, 2020. Funds will be used to establish and maintain a culturally specific curriculum. Our programs incorporate hands-on group and individual learning experiences which provide young men of color with skillsets that prepare them for their future.

Every story has a beginning. The Miles 4 Sons Bike-a-Thon begins at the origin point, Pasadena, CA., where Brother Qaadir Muhammad’s life journey also begins. This is a powerful story, filled with struggle and triumph, and is still being written. In this chapter of his life, he returns to launch a fundraising event which will impact the lives of disenfranchised youth. Each leg of this bike-a-thon represents a different obstacle that Qaadir faced and overcame which led him to his life’s purpose:
Fight 4 Life No Excuses.
This our fifth year providing this year-round program teaches and prepares young men for manhood. The program offers self-defense training, health and fitness awareness, basic mechanics, financial literacy (including stocks and investments), math and reading tutoring, S.T.E.M. focused curriculum and cultural expression and other current essential social topics.
As our program evolves, so does our curriculum. In order to meet the ever-changing challenges of the 21st century.
In 2019, we incorporated a S.T.E.M.(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) component into our manhood training program. This S.T.E.M. curriculum gave young men, between the ages of 12–16, hands-on exposure to Basic Electricity, Circuit Boards, Mathematics and Drone Technology. The S.T.E.M. program culminated with a trip to Tucson's BioSphere 2 Science Center.
Funds raised as a part of the Miles4Sons Bike-A-Thon will go directly to purchasing the needed S.T.E.M. program materials. This includes the more advanced components like tablets and drones and materials for the newly created Junior S.T.E.M. program for ages 8-11 years old. Resources will also be applied to field trips, transportation and travel expenses..

We will use trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons which cover math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history & AP.
Resources Needed: 50 iPads
Financial Literacy Program: Our mentees will learn skillsets and knowledge that allows them to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources.
