Today is my birthday and the only gift I can ask for is FFS.

My name is Milena and I’m a 22 year old Cape Verdean trans woman living in Rotterdam. For as long as I remember I’ve felt uncomfortable in my own body and specifically about my facial features, since they are the main source of my dysphoria. In 2021 I finally had enough courage and support to start my transition. Although I’m grateful for all the progress I’ve been able to make in my transition (both socially and medically) it hasn’t been enough to alleviate my gender dysphoria.

My social anxiety, depression and suicidality have increased in the last couple of years due to gender dysphoria and the harassment I’ve had to experience both online and in public. This led to me not feeling comfortable being seen in public and me having to take a break from school and work. The only time I feel somewhat comfortable presenting myself to others is when wearing a full face of make-up and even then I still struggle with my anxiety and dysphoria.

All I wish for is to continue to live a life free of harassment, gender dysphoria and one where I get to be the woman I always felt I was on the inside. A life where I won’t feel like I have to present myself at my most hyper feminine to be respected and safe.

I’ve thought about starting a GoFundMe for a long time now and thought the right time to put this up would be on my 22nd birthday.

The amount I'm asking for is an estimate, as I have yet to be able to go into my consultation. I used the prices on the website https://2pass.clinic/en/ffs/costs to calculate an estimate of 25.000. Once I have had my consultation and know the exact number, I will of course update the goal.
