MILDRED'S COMEBACK
On Wednesday May 13th 2020, my sister Mildred Russell was shot in her home, a victim of domestic violence. My sister was shot three times and left for dead by her soon to be ex-husband. After several incidents/reports and calls to law enforcement he then on Sunday May 10th 2020 Mothers Day spray painted the inside of the house and broke up all electronics in the home. My sister was granted a restraining order on Monday May 11th 2020 and he was removed from the home. He then return to the home and shot her leaving her for dead. If you're in the Jacksonville, FL area you have probably saw the events of this horrific ordeal on your local news station (Husband shoots his wife in the Oakleaf neighborhood area). The soon to be ex-husband turned himself in and is currently in jail with no bond. Mildred is such an amazing mother to her two sons, sister, daughter, aunt and friend to all of those who know and love her. My sister survived this attack after being shot in her neck, chest and stomach but this is going to be a long, rough road for her recovery physically and mentally but with the help of friends, family and everyone she will make it through this. She has worked so hard and we want to make sure she gets the help she needs towards recovery and not have to worry financially as she will be out of work for an uncertain amount of time for rehabilitation once she leaves the hospital. This was her year, her 50th Birthday Party was postpone in April due to Covid-19 and now this incident. Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help if you find it in your heart to give she would very much appreciate it. Please reach out to those you may know who are suffering from domestic violence and please help put a stop to the perpetual cycle. God Bless you all!
