Mildenhall Fen Tigers 2023 Season Saver

Donation protected
Like everyone the Speedway community is hit by rising costs and competition on spectators time. Despite the commitment of all involved in running the club, including over 40 volunteers, numbers have dwindled and the club faces a difficult decision about whether they can risk running for the 2023 season, knowing the Management Team could be up to £15,000 out of pocket.

Fen Tigers first put their tapes up against Scunthorpe in 1975 making this season their 48th. It took just 5 years for them to win their first title and they've gone on to win a further 8 between the League and Knockout Cup. In that time over 300 riders have taken to the track including the youngest at 15 years and 15 months (Kyle Hughes in 2004 and Jordon Jenkins in 2016). Mildenhall has always been a development side and has seen many riders go onto to perform on higher leagues including Richard Knight who rode in the 1990 Speedway World Final. More recently successful riders include Drew Kemp, Jordon Jenkins and Jason Edwards all of whom learnt their trade around the Tigers track.

We are reaching out to not just the Speedway community but the whole community to Save Our Speedway. The Speedway that brings social interaction for the socially isolated. The Speedway that holds cherished memories of people that have passed. The Speedway that creates new memories and dreams for small children. The Speedway that helps young men have a sense of purpose and direction. We are asking for your help to help a community of people.

Here's what some of our supporters and riders have to say about the club;

"I grew up going to and supporting Mildenhall, it was a big part of my childhood and my time with my dad and I now get to take my own son" AG

"Mildenhall is a big part of our lives with my 5 year old loving our days down there, he spends the whole off season asking when it will start again. The riders always have time for the supporters" ER

"I'm happy to support in return for all the good times and memories " SB

"Lovely club always made welcome and enjoyed my racing" TC

"From a Londoner that can only attend occasionally due to distance it would be a big loss to the area" SJ
We have until the 17th of January to raise the funds and notify the league of the intention to run. Following this supporters and promoters will work to increase the crowds that attend to secure the future of Mildenhall Fen Tigers.

Should the funds not be raised in time and as a result Mildenhall Fen Tigers do not run in the 2023 season monies will be returned to those that have donated. If you wish to donate anonymously and this occurs monies will be given to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund who have given their full support to this campaign. You can find out more information about them here https://www.srbf.co.uk/

If you wish to pay by cheque please address them to MFT Team Limited and post to JK Memorials, Granary Workshops, Long Dolver Drove, Hassle Road, Soham, CB7 5UP. Please include a self addressed envelope for your cheque to be returned should the total not be reached.
