Mila’s fight with Leukemia

Hello everyone, I’m Larissa! Melanie’s sister, and Mila’s Tia. My family and I started this go fund me in hopes to try and relieve some financial stress for my sister and her 3 year old daughter Mila. Melanie is a single mom who like a lot of us rely on our job to provide for her daughter and herself. Unfortunately on Wednesday March 10th, we received awful news that our little Mila was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Cancer. Our little 3 year old baby who has had to endure so much for her age already, was getting another obstacle thrown in her life. Mila was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was around a year old and has had to battle the effects of her very strong medication for roughly 2 years now. Mila commonly suffers from high fevers and seizures from day to day and has been a fighter since birth. We humbly ask for help in this long journey that will be mila’s reality for at least 2 years. For 2 weeks mila will receive blood transfusions, begin chemotherapy, need bone marrow biopsies, and she will require daily blood draws in order to manage her blood supply. This horrible disease is treatable but will require lots of work and caution. Mila will be in and out of Rady’s children’s hospital for 2 years and she will require around the clock care, any help will greatly help Melanie take some time off of work, and would go towards things like gas, hotel rooms, and other expenses. This will allow Melanie to solely focus on Mila’s health and recovery. From the bottom of our families hearts, we appreciate any amount you decide to donate.
