On Sunday December 12th our mother Milagros Collazo-Rios was tragically taken from us when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south bound on Jerome Ave in the Bronx. The true definition of here today gone tomorrow as the day before she spent with friends and family at my brothers baby shower to celebrate the upcoming new addition to the family, sadly one she will never know. She was the light of our lives. We couldn’t have asked God for a better mother. She taught my brother and I so much and instilled in us the importance of family and hard work. We lost our father at a young age so our mother played both roles and she stayed strong for our family through out the years. Sadly the one thing she never taught us was how to live without her, she was our best friend and confidant now our lives and that of her grandchildren are forever changed. You always think you have more time with the ones you love but ours was tragically cut short. Since our family was not prepared for such a loss we are reaching out to our friends, family and whoever else can help us give our mother the funeral/burial services she deserves.
