Mila is a 7-month-old Black Labrador Retriever puppy that I found on craigslist and has been with me since she was just a 3-month old little nugget.
She's been by my side every day since with an unlimited supply of smiles and kisses for anyone, human or animal, that she's encountered.
The only flaw in this otherwise perfect puppy was her obsession for water which has always been a mystery to me until recently. This past week I discovered some grave news regarding the state of her kidneys.
After a couple of days of hospitalization, blood tests, and an ultrasound, the vets couldn't get an exact diagnosis but based on her creatinine levels of 4.6 mg/dl along with several other above normal findings it appears that she is on Stage 3 of 4 of a terminal kidney disease.
The ultrasound results revealed that the meat of Mila's kidneys were never fully developed in the womb which can be from possible Renal Dysplasia.
There isn't an exact timeline for Mila, it be days, weeks, or month, but the main goal is to keep her as comfortable as possible by giving her a special kidney diet until her kidneys fully begin to fail.
These recent medical expenses have come at an unfortunately time that has put me in a difficult financial position as I've spent about $2,000 within the past week for hospitalization, blood, urine, and ultrasound testing.
All of the money generated from this campaign will go toward a repayment of a credit of $800 I had to open for the immediate hospitalization as well as the out of pocket expenses totaling around $2,000 for this unforeseen tragedy.
I am grateful to anyone that can donate. Even a $1 donation to help with Mila's medical costs would mean the world. Any donation amount is appreciated, and please only donate if you are able to.
