Mila is a 10-year-old perfect rescue pup. She's a very sweet and silly pup. She loves her couch and all her lambchop toys.
Unfortunately, in June 2023 I had to rush Mila to the hospital after she began to cough up blood. After multiple vet visits, an oncologist consultation, and biopsy the doctor found:
Soft tissue opacity throughout cranial and caudal parts of the left cranial lung lobe. The mass measures 4 cm in the left cranial lung lobe. Ultrasound and biopsy were not able to confirm what type of cancer she has. We know it's either a sarcoma or carcinoma.
UPDATE 9/12/2023
We got her x-ray results today and the chemo is working!! There's a 15% decrease in the overall size of the mass in her lung. We're VERY grateful for all the love and support she's gotten over the last 4 months.
UPDATE 4/3/24
Mila doing well currently and is acting mostly like her normal goofy, wild, and precious self. We've found a cheaper chemo route which is amazing! We still have to go in every 3 months for X-rays & blood work which is expensive but way more manageable. On her last x-ray they found the tumor was the same size which is great that it hasn't grown!
UPDATE 5/13/24
Mila is still doing well. We lowered her chemo dosage a bit because she was having trouble eating and has lost some weight. Her next X-rays will be due in a couple months to check to see where the cancer is at. Early next month it'll be 1 year since she went to the ER and later got diagnosed. This wouldn't have been possible without all the love and financial help we've gotten over this past year. Thank you so much!!
ER visit and diagnosis alone cost roughly $4500. We're asking for help with her quality-of-life care moving forward. Any amount will make a change in Mila's life. Pennies, a dollar, or even a pup hug would do.
