Hello, farmers market community!
As the managers of the four farmers markets that Jimena and Mikl of Catalina Empanadas participate, we were all floored when we heard that Mikl had undergone (successful) quadruple bypass surgery on May 26.

Mikl is home and healing, but he's got a ways to go in healing, and we all know how generous and giving they are with their business and outlook on life, so we, as a market community would like to do the same for them.

Any amount, no matter how much will help this small family business to offset some of the many incoming medical bills already flooding their mailbox.

Mikl was so touched at the idea of all of us,  their many shoppers, fellow market farms and vendors, and fellow managers would band together to help them.  He wants to be sure everyone knows that he will not accept a penny over what his bills amount to - because that's the kind of guy he is.

We all hope to have him back at the markets soon, but until then, you'll see either Jimena herself, their lovely daughter, Cid, or their trusted employee, Kim.
