We announce with gratitude the ascension of Miki (Usuha) Bates on January 24, 2022, and her transition to the next phase of life in the spiritual realm. She had been through months of poor health, and her body continued to get weaker, but her spirit was strong and ready for the next phase of life. She will no longer be limited by her troubled body, and she is now liberated to live fully and freely.
Miki was born in Tokyo, Japan on January 11, 1955 as the second daughter in her family. She loved sports and the outdoors as she grew up, and would visit relatives in the Japanese alps every summer. Both she and her older sister found inspiration in the teachings of Sun Myung Moon, and she dedicated years of full-time missionary work. In 1982 she was Blessed in marriage to Ken Bates, and she spent the rest of her life working and serving in the US. They both fully believe that the marriage Blessing is not only for this lifetime, but continues into our eternal life beyond.
She took in her sister’s family in 1993 after the sudden passing of her sister’s husband in Japan. Miki’s lasting legacy is in raising an extended family of her husband Ken, two sons Jacob and Kensu, two nieces Yuriko and Rie, and her sister Etsuko. Her family always felt a strong presence of God, and constant support from the girls’ father in the spiritual realm. Experiencing and acknowledging the spiritual reality around her was a natural and everyday part of her family life. Her family continued expanding to include: two grandsons Euisung and Boksung from Jacob and Ohnshil, two grandsons Manho and Sunwoo from Yuriko and Jin, a granddaughter Aila from Rie and Mischa, and another daughter-in-law, Kensu’s wife, Bea.
Miki was surrounded by love and gratitude as her extended family and many friends came to wish her well and express their warm regards during the last weeks of her physical life. Rather than a time of sorrow, her last weeks became a celebration of the life of faith she lived. She loved to be around babies and young children and had dreamed of establishing a special room for young mothers and their babies at the local community center. We invite you to support a memorial fund for developing that dream as a lasting monument to her beautiful life of living for others.

1993年、姉の夫が日本で急逝した後、姉の家族を引き取りました。美樹さんが残したものは、夫のケン、二人の息子ジェイコブとケンス、二人の姪ユリコとリエ、そして姉エツコという大家族を育てたことです。彼女の家族は、常に神の存在を強く感じ、娘たちの父親が霊的な領域で常にサポートしてくれていました。彼女の周りのスピリチュアルな現実を体験し、まさに、彼女の家族生活は自然で日常的な部分でありました。ジェイコブとオンシルさんの間に生まれた二人の孫、ウイスン君とボクソン君、ユリコとジン君の間に生まれた二人の孫、マンホ君とサンウ君、リエとミッーシャ君の間に生まれた孫、アイラちゃん、そしてケンスの嫁、ベアさんへと家族は広がり続けました。
美樹さんは、肉体の力を失った最後の数週間、家族や多くの友人たちが冥福を祈り、温かい言葉をかけてくれ、愛と感謝に包まれました。美樹さんの最後の数週間は、悲しみの時ではなく、美樹さんが生きた信仰生活を祝う時となりました。赤ちゃんと一緒にいることが大好きで、公民館に若いお母さんと赤ちゃんのための特別室を作るのが夢だったそうです。その夢を実現するための記念基金を、為に生きた彼女の美しい人生の永遠のモニュメントとして、ぜひご支援ください。

감사의 마음을 담아, 2022년 1월 24일 미키 베이츠상께서 삶의 새로운 단계인 영계로 입적 하셨음을 알려드립니다. 미키상은 지난 몇달 간 육신은 약해지셨지만 영성은 매우 강하였고, 삶의 새로운 단계를 위한 준비를 하실 수 있었습니다. 이제는 아픈 몸에 구속되지 않고 완전하게 자유로운 삶으로 해방 되셨습니다.
미키상은 1955년 1월 11일 일본 도쿄에서 태어나셨습니다. 어렸을 때 부터 운동과 야외활동을 좋아하셨고, 매년 여름이면 일본에 있는 친척들을 방문하시곤 하셨습니다. 미키상과 그분의 언니는 문선명 목사님의 가르침에 영감을 받아 수년간 선교사로서의 삶을 사셨습니다. 1982년에는 켄 베이츠상과 축복결혼을 받아 남은 여생을 미국에서 사셨습니다. 베이츠 부부는, 축복은 단순히 지구상에서의 시간 뿐만 아니라 영원한 삶으로 이어진다는 것을 잘 알고 계십니다.
1993년, 일본에 있던 형부가 갑작스럽게 성화하신 후 미키상은 언니의 가정과 함께 생활하셨습니다. 미키상의 생애 업적은 남편 켄 베이츠씨와 함께 두 아들인 제이콥과 켄수, 두명의 조카인 유리코와 리에, 그리고 언니 에츠코상 입니다. 그녀의 가족은 상항 하나님의 함께 하심을 강하게 느꼈었고 영계에 있는 형부로부터 많은 도움을 받았습니다. 영계를 경험하고 알게 되면서, 가족의 삶속에서 영적인 세계는 자연스러운 부분이였습니다. 큰아들 제이콥과 온실 부부로 부터 손자 의성과 복성, 큰조카인 유키코와 진 부부로 부터 손자 만호와 선후, 작은조카인 리에와 미스차 부부로 부터 손녀 아일라, 그리고 작은아들 켄수의 아내인 베아를 며느리로 맞이 하는 등 미키상의 가족은 계속해서 확산되었습니다.
미키상은 지상에서의 마지막 몇 주간의 삶을 그분을 위해 찾아와준 확대된 가족들과 수많은 친구들의 사랑과 감사함 속에서 지내실 수 있었습니다. 그 기간은 미키상에게 있어 슬픔의 시간이기 보다는 그분이 사셨던 믿음의 삶을 기념하는 시간이였습니다. 미키 베이츠 여사께서는 항상 주변에 어린 아이들이 있는것을 좋아하셨고 젊은 엄마들과 자녀들을 위한 공간이 커뮤니티 센터 내에있기를 꿈꾸셨습니다. 이번 모금을 통해 마련된 기금은 미키상의 위하여 사는 아름다운 삶을 기념하며, 그 분의 꿈을 실현하기 위한 일에 사용할 예정입니다.
