Hello everyone,

I am writing on behalf of our dear friend and beloved community member Mikhael. Many of you know him through his work across archives and arts organizations in the Bay Area. Mikhael began transitioning in winter of 2023 and over two years later has now been approved for top surgery at the end of May.

Since completing his Masters in December, Mikhael has faced challenges due to government restrictions around work authorization. We are asking for $4000 as a cushion for Mikhael’s rent, utilities, and any additional care expenses (e.g. transportation, food, etc.) as he recovers during the two-month post-op period. By raising these funds ahead of time, Mikhael will be able to focus his energy on resting and healing, and to step into the world in a body that fulfills him.
