It's really hard for me to reach out and ask for help, as I grew up stubbornly independent and find it hard to ask for a helping hand when needed, but I'm in a bad place right now and asking for that help...

Like many other people, I was flooded out of my home over the NYE weekend due to the torrential rains that hit San Francisco. I awoke on December 31st to over 18" of standing water in my apartment which all came up through my drains (even though there were one-way valve/backflows installed) due to the massive amount of water pressure from all the storm runoff passing through the storm drains.

To give you an idea of how bad it was, my tub was half full of grey water, water came up through my floor drains in my laundry room and bathroom, and spread throughout my entire apartment. There was also over 2 feet of standing water in my yard. (This was all around 1pm, so it was most likely a lot higher earlier during the peak of the heavy downpour.)

I have been living out of hotels since NYE while waiting to hear from an assessor, and finally heard from one today and was informed that due to the nature of the flooding, my renter's insurance policy doesn't cover damage to my personal property, and after tonight they will no longer be covering my hotel stay.

I have a temporary place to stay starting tomorrow night but need to literally REPLACE all of my furniture, a large amount of my clothing, and a bunch of other stuff, basically anything that was on the floor or within 2 feet of it... I haven't been back in the unit since it flooded so don't know the full extent of damages yet....

I have some money saved, but most of it is currently tied up in producing the Heavy Psych Sounds Fest in March, and am going to need some of it for living expenses and possibly moving to a new place given the timeframe of repairs...

Anything you can donate to help me get back on my feet would be greatly appreciated. If I make more than needed to replace what was damaged I will pay it forward to someone else in need...
