On February 22, 2019, our good friend and co-worker, Mike “Mikey” Boutrin, was diagnosed with a rare form of T-Cell Lymphoma/Leukemia. Since being diagnosed, he has spent 2 weeks in the hospital and has gone through 2 rounds of chemo-therapy. As of now, the fight continues and Mikey is striving to conquer. Fighting by his side are his wife Jennifer and his 2 small children, all there to keep his head up and his eye on the prize.
Mikey has been an employee of Price Chopper for 16 years, starting as a bottle kid and moving up to becoming a 4th man in our grocery department, to a assistant meat manager and finally becoming the dairy department manager currently at our Niskayuna Store. He leaves a great impact with everyone that interacts with him be it a co-worker or a guest.
Myself along with a handful of our teammates have come together to start this fund so we can help ease some burden off of Mikey and his wife’s shoulders so they can focus on his fight.
