Hello Family & Friends, So many of you know and love my husband Mike for his positivity, caring spirit and willingness to help others. Well, Mike needs our help

On August 26, while still recovering from broken ribs Mike was injured in a freak and no fault of his own accident when a large flying metel Shard flicked or dislodged by a passing vehicle struck his eye. The accident inflicted serious injurie and major wounds to his right eye. I'm very thankful for the passersby who stopped to render assistance and take him to Wauchope Hospital then onto Port Macquarie. I received the phone call to attend ED when I arrived the team had stabilize Mike but needed to get him to Taree to meet on route surgeon's ( time was of the essence) the quickest was to do this was by me driving him the 50km, the surgeon's were ready and waiting and operated for 4hrs with the hope to just stabilise his eye. My thanks to Taree Hospital for the love and care shown to both myself and Mike. Mike was then transported to Sydney Eye Hospital for further investigation more surgery but the prognosis wasn't the one we were hoping for.

Mike will most likely lose his eye he has more surgery on Thursday so will know more and keep everyone up dated.

It's going to be a road to recovery and with Mike being a kiwi isn't entitled to any financial support with 600km round trips to Sydney one or twice a week, accommodation costs, medical out of pocket expenses, loss of work is having extra mental weight that he doesn't need we need him to stay comfortable and in good spirits.

If Mike has ever made you laugh till you started crying, made you roll your eyes with a bad pun, stopped to help you with something out of the goodness of his heart, or you just genuinely enjoy his infectiously kind spirit, now's the time to show him how much you care about him!!
