Chosen Family and Friends we need You! Our dearest Mikey needs our love, help and continued support now more than ever.

We are reaching out today with an ask of mutual aid to help support our friend Michael 907 , who's health has been declining over the last few years.

Here's the story:

He has been diagnosed with Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). It's a serious and often long-lasting biological illness that affects many body parts. It causes severe fatigue not improved by rest, problems thinking, sleeping for 18+ hours at a time, dizziness, pain, and many other difficult symptoms.

This has been a heavy burden on him as he is unable to work to support basic needs or interact in his usual way. He would love to hear from you and needs friends the most right now.

Currently, Mikey is trying his best to function like a regular human but after a few hours of attempted normalcy he experiences intense energy crashes, barely having the capacity to get through basic daily tasks like cooking nourishing meals, cleaning, laundry etc.

As far as government aid and medical help goes, he's been in a long and unfortunate holding pattern to be granted Disability benefits and IHSS support. He's solely relying on Foodstamps and the care of a few good friends. Specialists are looking further into a more detailed diagnosis for his case and a medical sleep study is due to take place soon.

Our dear friend Garrett has been an immense lifeline and solid support-helping Mikey with months of back rent, bills and generally keeping things afloat. The need has become alot for one friend to take on entirely. We are asking for any and all help to organize and strategize in these very hard times to cover ongoing rent, bills and a lending a hand with tasks and creative planning to keep funds coming in.

We are so greatful for our network and we would greatly appreciate any ongoing community support big or small!

How you can help:

• Chip in financially for rent, food, and medical expenses

• Volunteer for small tasks like laundry, fridge cleanouts, organizing

• Help with meal prep — healthy food is crucial, but hard to manage solo

plus he would love to hang out with friends more often and have fun

• Buy/help sell some of his amazing art — buying original paintings, making prints, paintings, and stickers to sell, starting a patreon if any experts out there on these platforms

• Connect him with acupuncturists or holistic practitioners who might be down to help his case and improve symptoms

• Set up a subscription or recurring donation —even small amounts help keep things stable-

As many of us know, Mikey is an incredible artist of many genres mainly painting. He put a pause on his career and art exhibition last year due to his condition, but he’s still aiming to find ways to stay creative when he can. He’s doing his best — but could also use creative help getting his work out there from the people who know and love him.
