Mike's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Mike Tetford is a 38 yr old father of three beautiful girls,
Stepdaughter Cassidy, age 15 Katelyn, age 11 and Jessica, age 9, husband to Michelle for 11 years.
Mikes journey of illness started about 2 years ago when he became ill with a kidney stone. Around Feb 2016, a ct scan finally revealed that he was suffering from stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver. Mike continued to work despite his increasing fatigue and worsening of his symptoms until he received an unexpected layoff from his company, Apr 2016. After that time, Mike recieved umemployment insurance. On January 27th 2017, Mike recieved a phone call stating a liver was available. The 9 hour procedure happened the very next day. On the same weekend, Mike lost his regular EI benefits. Through many complications such as kidney failure, post op infections, a second surgery, and C-difficile (an hospital aquired infection), Mike was finally discharged after 6 weeks of hospitalization. Mike still faces a long road to recovery. Doctors estimate his recovery time to be 12 months without any complications or setbacks. Mike has always been a hardworking man who longs to support his family. Currently, Mike is recieving sick EI benefits until the end of April 2017. We want Mike's focus to be on healing and not worrying about finacial burdens and the extra costs of necessary medications associated with the transplant. Our family is grateful for the continued prayers and support thus far. Any help in giving, and sharing this message would be tremendously appreciated by his family.
Thank you!
